Our annual design contest provides an opportunity for our DIY customers and professional designers to showcase their creative talents. This year we had hundreds of entries and it was truly amazing to see how creative our customers are! The staff here at Cards & Pockets voted to narrow down the entries, and our Facebook fans voted for the top three in both the Do It Yourself and Professional Design categories. Today we are sharing our 3rd Place DIY winning entry created by Sonia Garcia.
We think Sonia’s design shows that the sky is the limit in what you can create with a bit of creativity and Cards & Pockets products! Using a desktop die cut machine she created these stunning Peacock themed Gate Cards that were a favorite of our staff and customers alike.
Here’s what Sonia had to say about her design:
“Since our wedding theme was peacock, we decided to use the vibrant blue of feathers as inspiration for our color palette. Instead of going with a traditional invitation style, the gate-fold style mats allowed us to try a more ornate take on a peacock design – paper cutting. My husband and I created the image for the cut-outs both by hand drawing and computer and used our die-cut machine to cut out our design on our gate folds.”
