Our annual design contest provides an opportunity for our DIY customers and professional designers to showcase their creative talents. This year we had hundreds of entries and it was truly amazing to see how creative our customers are! The staff here at Cards & Pockets voted to narrow down the entries, and our customers voted for the top three in both the Do It Yourself and Professional Design categories. This week we’re showing off the Professional Entries!
Allison submitted an entry that is full of letterpress goodness, here’s what she had to say about her design.
“These invitations were designed and created for my cousin Kelly’s wedding. I am a graphic designer and work at a sign shop. Since these invitations were extra-special (favorite cousin), I wanted to get into some foiling and possibly letterpress. I was unbelievably lucky to meet and talk to the generous owner of a local letterpress shop. He made experienced suggestions and we ended with the gold foil for the lace-lanterns, silver satin foil for the names, and letterpress for the main invite text. The RSVP, Directions, and Details cards were completed at another local print shop, 1-color on press. Lace was tied around the closed pocketfold as a belly band. Also included in the picture are the programs, packaged in a silver panel pocket. It worked perfectly.”
